Das ist noch ein St&uuml;ck weiter. Freiflug bedeutet aber nur, dass ich den Flugpreis erlassen bekomme, nicht aber die Steuern. Eigentlich wollte ich mit dem g\u00fcnstigen Flughafen-Shuttle-Bus in die Stadt fahren, aber zu meiner \u00dcberraschung gibt es den nicht mehr. Der Grund: Mittlerweile wurde der Skytrain Airport Link (Hochbahn) in Betrieb genommen. Damit kommt man zwar schon f\u00fcr knapp einen Euro in die Innenstadt, aber nicht bis zur Khao San Road, dem Backpacker-Zentrum im Stadtteil Banglamphu. Den kann man zu Fu\u00df von der Khao San Road aus erreichen. Es gibt sogar einen Seiteneingang, an dem man sich die Eintrittsgeb\u00fchr spart \u2013 ganz zuf\u00e4llig mein Lieblingseingang.<br \/>\nIch finde es sowieso unfair, dass hier Ausl\u00e4nder (\u201eFarang\u201c) zahlen m\u00fcssen, w\u00e4hrend Thais nichts oder nur einen Bruchteil berappen. Klar, Tourismus ist ein Wirtschaftsfaktor, aber ich habe in diesem Land wahrlich genug Geld liegen lassen. Von daher: Keine moralischen Bedenken. Verkehrschaos<\/b><br \/>\nMein AirAsia-Flug QZ8085 nach Sumatra geht erst heute Abend um 20 Uhr \u2013 also bleibt genug Zeit, um tags\u00fcber noch einen der \u00fcber 400 Bangkok-Tempel zu besuchen. Ich entscheide mich f\u00fcr den Wat Arun am Chao-Phraya-Fluss. Der Clou: Man kann die steilen Stufen hinaufklettern (Achtung, schwindelerregend!) und hat von oben eine fantastische Aussicht auf den Fluss und die Stadt.<br \/>\n<b>Flughafen-Shuttle: Eine Reise f\u00fcr sich<\/b><br \/>\nUm sicherzugehen, nehme ich vier Stunden vor Abflug einen Shuttle-Service zum Flughafen \u2013 und das erweist sich als lebensrettend! Der Bangkok-Verkehr zur Feierabendzeit ist eine absolute Katastrophe. F\u00fcr die ersten 4 Kilometer zum Superhighway braucht der Minibus zwei Stunden (kein Witz!). Die restlichen 15 Kilometer gehen dann gl\u00fccklicherweise schnell. Zwei mitfahrende Skandinavier haben Pech und verpassen ihren Flug (Neubuchung = teuer!). Medan einige Sattlereien gesehen von denen eine auch Nylontaschen anfertigt. Bin gleich zum Hotel zur\u00fcck und habe meinen in die Jahre gekommenen Rucksack geholt und vorbeigebracht. Fuer nur 2 Euro haben die mir den in einer Stunde general\u00fcberholt und runderneuert. L\u00f6cher und N\u00e4hte ausgebessert und neue Schlag\u00f6sen reingemacht. Jetzt sollte er nochmals 20 Jahre halten! Beim Mittagessen im 'Corner Cafe' \u00fcberfallen mich zirca 10 Schulm\u00e4dchen und wollen ein Interview in Deutsch von mir. Na meinetwegen - man will ja nicht unhoeflich sein. Die Fragen sind fein s\u00e4uberlich in deutsch auf Papier geschrieben und werden von den M\u00e4dels in eher unverst\u00e4ndlichem Deutsch an mich gerichtet (da muss ich die Fragen schon selbst ablesen). Das ganze wird per Handyvideo aufgenommen. \"Wie heissen Sie?\", \"Wo kommen Sie her?\" sind noch die einfacheren Fragen. Spaeter wird's dann schwieriger: \"Was glauben Sie ist die Bestimmung von Indonesien?\" - woher soll ich das wissen? \"Wie ist die Stellung von Indonesien in der Welt?\" - Keine Ahnung, auf diese Frage bin ich nicht vorbereitet ! Nach etwa 10 Minuten hat der Spuk ein Ende und ich kann mich endlich meinem nur noch lauwarmen Mittagessen widmen. Jedenfalls nehme ich fortan immer einen grossen Bogen um eine Gruppe \u00e4lterer Sch\u00fclerinnen. Und kommen die dann doch mal zielstrebig auf mich zu, kommt es noch bevor die Luft holen k\u00f6nnen von mir wie aus der Pistole geschossen: \"no interview!\".<br \/>\nNachmittags nehme ich ein Becak f\u00fcr 30000 ausserhalb der Stadt zum Busbahnhof nach Brastagi. Die Fahrt dorthin dauert etwa 2 Stunden und geht stetig den Berg hoch. Das Busfahren hier hat sich nicht veraendert in den letzten Jahren. Die fahren immer noch geisteskrank durch die Gegend und ueberholen staendig an unuebersichtlichen Stellen. Gibts mal nen Unfall, so bleibt der Schrott einfach am Strassenrand stehen. Im Laufe der Zeit \u00fcberwuchert das Wrack und die Natur holt sich's zur\u00fcck. Brastagi liegt etwa 1300 m hoch zwischen zwei Vulkanen. Hier ist das Klima weit aus ertr\u00e4glicher als in Medan. Temperaturen zwischen 20 und 25 Grad. Untergekommen bin ich im Wisma Sibayak Guesthouse, einer beliebten Traveller Unterkunft. Grosse, saubere und ger\u00e4umige Zimmer mit angeschlossenem Bad fuer ca. 8 Euro. Die Dusche ist jedoch wie fast \u00fcberall in Indonesien ein \"Mandi\". Mit einer handgekritzelten Karte vom Guesthouse und einem 2.000-Rupiah-Minibusticket (\"Kama\"-Linie) landete ich am Parkeingang.<br \/>\nErste Etappe: Steile, befestigte Stra\u00dfe \u2013 noch kein Problem.<br \/>\nZweite Etappe: Dschungelpfad, der sich wie eine Treppe zur H\u00f6lle hochschl\u00e4ngelte.<br \/>\nFinale: Ger\u00f6llfelder, \u00fcber die ich zum stinkenden Kraterrand kraxelte. Schwefelgase zischten aus Felsspalten, als w\u00fcrde der Vulkan Sauerstoffmasken verweigern.<br \/>\nGeplante Aufstiegszeit: 3 Stunden.<br \/>\nMeine Zeit: 1 Stunde, 10 Minuten \u2013 dank mieser Kondition und der Angst, der Vulkan k\u00f6nne meine Eile als Respektlosigkeit deuten (\"Er ist seit 350 Jahren ruhig\u2026 heute ist nicht der Tag, Farang!\").<br \/>\nAbstieg: Survival-Training ungeplant<br \/>\nBergab w\u00e4hlte ich die \"hei\u00dfe Quellen\"-Route \u2013 empfohlen von einem fremden Guide. Bad Idea.<br \/>\nDer Pfad war so schmal und zugewachsen, dass ich mich wie ein H\u00f6hlenmensch b\u00fccken musste (eine Machete w\u00e4re Gold wert gewesen!).<br \/>\nDie \"Treppen\" waren ausgewaschen und glatt wie Eis. Meine abgerockten Turnschuhe verwandelten jeden Schritt in ein Gl\u00fccksspiel.<br \/>\nDreimal hing ich nur noch an Wurzeln \u2013 der Dschungelboden gr\u00fc\u00dfte schon freundlich.<br \/>\nErl\u00f6sung: Nach 1,5 Stunden lichtete sich der Wald, und ich taumelte zu den hei\u00dfen Quellen \u2013 ein Fu\u00dfbad f\u00fcr meine zerst\u00f6rten Waden (Lektion: lange Hosen > Abenteuerromantik).<br \/>\nR\u00fcckkehr: Gem\u00fcse-Bus-Chaos<br \/>\nZur\u00fcck nach Brastagi? Kein Taxi, kein Becak. Stattdessen: Ein v\u00f6llig \u00fcberladener Minibus, stopfte mich zwischen getrocknetes Gras, Karottenberge und neun Bauern. Denn ich will zum Lake Toba, der Hauptattraktion auf Sumatra. In meinem Guesthouse geben sie mir noch vor der Abreise einen Plan mit auf den Weg, wie man dorthin kommt mit \u00f6ffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln: Zun\u00e4chst f\u00fcr 3000 Rupiah mit dem Minibus nach Kabanjahe. Und von dort f\u00fcr 20.000 in 3 Stunden mit der Bus Company Sepadan nach Pematangsiantar.<br \/>\nDer Bus, in dem ich sitze, gleicht aber eher einem Viehtransporter, so eng eingepfercht sitzt man da und kann sich kaum bewegen. Dazu dr\u00f6hnt noch \u00fcberlaute indonesische Volksmusik aus den Boxen. Hoffentlich trage ich keinen H\u00f6rschaden davon. Sp\u00e4ter wird die Musik zwar etwas besser, denn es l\u00e4uft in die Jahre gekommene Pop- und Rockmusik wie z. B. die Scorpions \u2013 die Lautst\u00e4rke bleibt jedoch an der Schmerzgrenze.<br \/>\nSp\u00e4ter in Pematangsiantar hat\u2019s dann doch ein Minibusfahrer geschafft, mich \u00fcbers Ohr zu hauen: Kassiert von mir 20.000 f\u00fcr die Fahrt nach Parapat am Tobasee, f\u00e4hrt aber nur einmal um den Block, l\u00e4dt mich an einem anderen Minibus ab und gibt dem Fahrer 10.000 \u2013 die anderen zehn beh\u00e4lt er selbst. Habe jedoch keine Lust, mich wegen 80 Cent mit dem anzulegen und ewig herumzudiskutieren. Soll er gl\u00fccklich werden mit dem vielen Geld! F\u00fcr die 10.000 kann er nicht mal ein Bier kaufen.<br \/>\nWeitere 1,5 Stunden sp\u00e4ter komme ich dann endlich in Parapat am Lake Toba an. Dort wartet schon die F\u00e4hre zur Insel Samosir und dem Touristenort Tuk Tuk. Was der Busfahrer mit seiner gr\u00e4sslich lauten Musik nicht geschafft hat, schafft die F\u00e4hre beinahe doch: n\u00e4mlich mir das Trommelfell zu zerreissen. Denn \u00fcber 10 Minuten ert\u00f6nt eine jetzt \u00fcber der Schmerzgrenze laute Kojek-Sirene, um auch noch dem Letzten in der Stadt mitzuteilen, dass die F\u00e4hre jetzt ablegt.<br \/>\nEine halbe Stunde sp\u00e4ter auf der Insel Samosir lasse ich mich von einem Motorradtaxi am \u201eLiberta Guesthouse and Homestay\u201c absetzen. Ein neuer Holzbungalow mit Blick auf den See, sowie Warmwasser UND einer funktionierenden Dusche bekommt man hier f\u00fcr 6 Euro. der Welt und einiges gr\u00f6\u00dfer als der Bodensee. Mitten im See befindet sich eine gro\u00dfe Insel. Die hei\u00dft Samosir und ist etwa so gro\u00df wie Ibiza. Genau genommen ist es eine Halbinsel, da sie \u00fcber einen schmalen Streifen mit dem Festland verbunden ist. Genaueres k\u00f6nnt ihr im Wiki nachlesen: <a href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tobasee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tobasee<\/a>.<br \/>\nAn der Ostseite von Samosir befindet sich wiederum eine Halbinsel mit etwa 3 km Durchmesser, die hei\u00dft so wie der Touristenort da drauf, n\u00e4mlich Tuk Tuk. Hier geht's noch recht ruhig zu. Unterk\u00fcnfte im \u00dcberfluss in jeder Preisklasse, aber momentan relativ wenige Touris.<br \/>\nJedenfalls vermietet mir der Besitzer meiner Unterkunft eines seiner Mopeds f\u00fcr 70.000 Rupiah am Tag (vollgetankt). Will heute mal die ganze Insel umrunden (124 km). Da gibt's eine mehr oder weniger gute Stra\u00dfe drum herum. Ins Innere kann man nicht fahren, da das sehr gebirgig ist.<br \/>\nNach einer halben Stunde halte ich an einer kleineren Ortschaft an. Dort finden t\u00e4glich Tanzauff\u00fchrungen des Batak-Stammes statt. Das ist die hier lebende Bev\u00f6lkerungsgruppe. Die wohnen in den H\u00e4usern mit den geschwungenen D\u00e4chern. Die Vorf\u00fchrung ist ganz nett, aber nichts Spektakul\u00e4res \u2013 man muss auch mal was Kulturelles machen.<br \/>\nDie Leute hier sind zumeist christlich, und am heutigen Samstag finden, so scheint es, viele Hochzeiten hier statt. Ich komme an drei Feierlichkeiten vorbei, halte aber nur an der ersten an, um mir das mal aus der N\u00e4he anzusehen. Die Leute sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Laden mich zum Essen und Trinken ein. Aber ich lehne ab, weil ich nicht st\u00f6ren will \u2013 nicht ohne einige Fotos zu schie\u00dfen.<br \/>\nAn der s\u00fcdlichen Inselk\u00fcste ist die Stra\u00dfe so schlecht, dass man eigentlich eine Enduro braucht, um durchzukommen. Nur unbefestigte Stein- und Staubpisten. Aber in langsamer Fahrt meistert das auch mein Honda-Roller. Hoffentlich bekomme ich keinen Platten, denn die Gegend hier ist sehr d\u00fcnn besiedelt.<br \/>\nDie Aussicht w\u00e4hrend der Fahrt \u2013 von der Insel auf den See und das umliegende Festland \u2013 ist jedoch grandios. Am Sp\u00e4tnachmittag bin ich dann doch heil und unfallfrei wieder zur\u00fcck in Tuk Tuk.<br \/>\nWas noch einige Tage bleiben wird, ist der Sonnenbrand, den ich mir beim Fahren geholt habe. Schlie\u00dflich bin ich im Urlaub und nicht auf der Flucht. Doch bei den Stra\u00dfenverh\u00e4ltnissen hier bedeutet das eine Busfahrt von 15-20 Stunden (und wieder zur\u00fcck). Das muss ich mir nicht geben. Deswegen \u00e4ndere ich meine Reisepl\u00e4ne und will mit einer F\u00e4hre r\u00fcber nach Malaysia. Bis zur K\u00fcstenstadt Tanjung Balai, von wo aus t\u00e4glich ein Speedboot in gut 4 Stunden die Stra\u00dfe von Malakka nach Kuala Lumpur \u00fcberquert, sind es 'nur' 5 Stunden mit dem Bus. Mit Umstieg in Siantar komme ich dort auch am Nachmittag an, ohne dass mich einer beschei\u00dfen will (jedenfalls habe ich nicht den Eindruck).<br \/>\nHier angekommen stehe ich erstmal vor drei Problemen:<br \/>\n1.) habe keinen (Stadt-)Plan,<br \/>\n2.) kein Hotel und<br \/>\n3.) keine Ahnung, wann und wo die F\u00e4hre nach Malaysia ablegt.<br \/>\nUnd sehr schnell kommt noch ein 4. Problem dazu: Hier spricht keiner Englisch. Nach 'ner Viertelstunde ist das 4. Problem wenigstens zum Teil gel\u00f6st. Einer der hier am Busbahnhof herumsitzenden Becak-Fahrer spricht etwas Englisch. Nach weiteren 10 Minuten habe ich ihm, so denke ich, klargemacht, was ich will. Und eine 2-st\u00fcndige Becak-Taxifahrt beginnt. Zun\u00e4chst geht's raus an den 10 km entfernten Hafen. Die F\u00e4hre nach Malaysia ist noch nicht da. Die kommt erst heute Abend und f\u00e4hrt morgen fr\u00fch um 11 wieder zur\u00fcck, so erfahre ich. Ticket kann man hier auch keines kaufen. Das gibt's nur an einem der Ticketoffices in der Stadt. Also wieder rein nach Tanjung Balai. Im Ticketoffice im Hotel Malahayati bekomme ich auch ohne Indonesischkenntnisse einen Fahrschein f\u00fcr 300.000 Rupiah (25 Euro).<br \/>\nBleibt noch das Unterkunftsproblem. Nach 'ner weiteren Stunde Irrfahrt und dem Begutachten mehrerer Hotels lasse ich mich wieder an meinem Hotel mit dem Ticketoffice absetzen, weil es mit 13 Euro vom Preis-\/Leistungsverh\u00e4ltnis wohl das Beste hier ist. Ich glaube, ich bin der einzige Ausl\u00e4nder hier, denn die Leute schauen mich an wie einen Au\u00dferirdischen. Und die Kinder rennen mir st\u00e4ndig hinterher. Wann hat man schon mal einen Alien in der Stadt?<br \/>\nMuss noch ein Lob an die indonesische Schneiderei loswerden. Bin schon seit mehr als 2 Jahren auf der Suche nach 'ner passenden Reisebrieftasche. Meine \u00fcber 20 Jahre alte von Jack Wolfskin f\u00e4llt schon fast auseinander und wurde schon mehrfach geflickt. Dieser Typ wird leider nicht mehr hergestellt, auch nicht von anderen Outdoor-Ausr\u00fcstern. Ich konnte jedoch einen pfiffigen Schneider hier mit 'Hand und Fu\u00df' \u00fcberreden, mir einen neuen nach Vorlage des alten herzustellen. Meine alte Brieftasche hat er kurzerhand 'ausgeschlachtet', sprich Saum, Rei\u00df- und Klettverschl\u00fcsse sowie den Tr\u00e4ger abgetrennt und in die identisch aussehende neue Brieftasche integriert. Und das f\u00fcr gut 4 Euro in einer Stunde. Hier geht es zu wie im H\u00fchnerstall, alles absolut chaotisch. Die endlosen Passformalit\u00e4ten erledigt zum Gl\u00fcck ein Agent des Ticketoffices. Der spricht auch etwas Englisch. Gegen 12 Uhr legt dann das Speedboot von 'Pacific Jetstar' ab. Einem Indonesier, der neben mir sitzt, muss ich die Immigration Card f\u00fcr Malaysia ausf\u00fcllen, er kommt damit nicht zurecht. \u00dcberhaupt habe ich das Gef\u00fchl, dass es in ganz Sumatra nur einen einzigen Kugelschreiber gibt, und den besitze ich.<br \/>\nVier Stunden sp\u00e4ter legt die F\u00e4hre dann in Port Klang, dem Hafen von Kuala Lumpur, oder 'KL' wie es hier nur genannt wird, an. Die Immigration verl\u00e4uft reibungslos, nur einen Geldautomaten oder eine Wechselstube gibt es hier nicht. Gleich neben der Immigration geht 'ne Bahn, mit der man in die Stadt reinkommt. Aber um eine Fahrkarte zu bekommen, brauche ich malaysische Ringgit. Doch die Frau am Schalter l\u00e4sst sich erweichen und nimmt auch \u00fcberteuerte 4 US-Dollar.<br \/>\nKuala Lumpur ist eine moderne und sehr saubere Stadt, ein Quantensprung zu Indonesien, auch was die Preise angeht. Habe dann doch noch eine g\u00fcnstige Bleibe f\u00fcr 50 Ringgit (ca. 13 Euro) im Anjuan Guesthouse im Bezirk Bukit Bintang gefunden. Allerdings hat das Zimmer nur 5 Quadratmeter und kein Fenster. WC und Dusche auf dem Stockwerk, selbstverst\u00e4ndlich. Hat sich einiges ge\u00e4ndert seither. Deshalb nehme ich mir den heutigen Tag Zeit, um die Stadt nochmals zu inspizieren. Zun\u00e4chst nehme ich die Monorail-Stadtbahn zum Petronas Twin Tower, die beiden \u00fcber 400 Meter hohen Zwillingst\u00fcrme. Kann aber erst gegen Mittag da rauf, da vormittags schon alle F\u00fchrungen ausgebucht sind. Ist auch mit 50 Ringgit nicht grade billig. Deshalb geht's vorher auf den Fernsehturm rauf. Da muss man nicht voranmelden und hat auch 'ne tolle Aussicht \u00fcber die Stadt.<br \/>\nNach dem Fernsehturm dann R\u00fcckmarsch zu den Twin Towers. In der Shopping Mall im Erdgeschoss erfahre ich, dass dieses Wochenende Formel 1 in Sepang, Malaysia (nicht weit von hier) ist. Petronas ist bekanntlich Sponsor des Mercedes Teams. Die haben hier einen gro\u00dfen Verkaufs- und Vorf\u00fchrstand aufgebaut. Und heute Nachmittag um 17:30 gibt's 'ne PR-Aktion mit Autogrammstunde der beiden Formel-1-Piloten Michael Schumacher und Nico Rosberg.<br \/>\nBis dahin habe ich noch einige Stunden Zeit und schaue mir die Innenstadt und die Chinatown von KL an. Denn hier leben sehr viele Chinesen. Ein Autogramm von Schumi zu bekommen wird schwierig, denn da warten schon hunderte von Fans. Ipoh, einer gr\u00f6\u00dferen Provinzhauptstadt 3 Stunden n\u00f6rdlich von KL. Die Autobahn dorthin macht einen besseren Eindruck als unsere deutschen Highways. Eigentlich wollte ich mir morgen hier ein Moped mieten und mal die tolle Gegend hier abfahren. Aber in der ganzen Stadt kann man kein einziges Zweirad mieten. Und das, obwohl die hier zu tausenden rumfahren! Das verstehe wer will. Und ein Taxi f\u00fcr einen Tag kostet 250 Ringgit. Das sind auch fast 70 Euro.<br \/>\nGl\u00fccklicherweise habe ich noch kein Hotel hier gebucht. Sprich, Ipoh f\u00e4llt ins Wasser und ich nehme den n\u00e4chsten Bus, der mich in 2 Stunden auf die Insel Penang bringt. Zu empfehlen ist dort das Star Guesthouse. Der Besitzer meines Guesthouses (ein \u00e4lterer, zahnloser Mann) verleiht mir eine nicht ganz so alte Honda, die aber noch gut im Schuss ist, f\u00fcr 30 Ringgit am Tag. Und so kann ich wenigstens mal Penang erkunden, wenn's schon in Ipoh nicht geklappt hat.<br \/>\nDie Insel misst etwa 20 km im Durchmesser und ist wegen ihrer multikulturellen Einfl\u00fcsse so interessant. Hier leben Chinesen, Malaien, Araber, Inder und Christen T\u00fcr an T\u00fcr. Und von dort am Nachmittag weiter mit 'nem privaten Speedboot auf die Insel Koh Lipe, die gleich neben dem Koh Tarutao Nationalpark liegt. Koh Lipe liegt nicht weit von Langkawi entfernt und geh\u00f6rt schon zu Thailand. D.h. wieder mal Passformalit\u00e4ten erledigen. Doch das geht auf der nur 3 km gro\u00dfen Insel recht locker zu. Da sitzt ein junger Thai der Immigration-Beh\u00f6rde in Bermudas und im T-Shirt in 'ner Bretterbude und macht mir den Stempel in den Pass. Wenn's nur \u00fcberall so schnell und unkompliziert gehen w\u00fcrde!<br \/>\nAuf Koh Lipe und den umliegenden Inseln leben thail\u00e4ndische Seezigeuner. Da die Insel nicht zum Nationalpark geh\u00f6rt, kann man auch als Tourist hierher. Au\u00dfer Schwimmen, Schnorcheln und \"Chillen\" kann man hier nicht so sehr viel tun.
